Kew Gardens

I spent  the year 2006 living just a few moments away from Kew Gardens in West London. It was an opportunity not to be missed, and I visited several times a week ~ not in summer, when everything was in its most abundant bloom, but between October and December, as the year wound down towards winter ~ leaving its glorious traces behind. During those autumn weeks, I walked and sketched and collected fallen leaves, cones, seeds and bits of bark. Many of those specimens became the inspiration for detailed botanical drawings which I gathered into the pockets  of small handmade books entitled: “Kew In Autumn ~ Observational Drawings”.
